Switch Restaurant and Lounge is the first restaurant in the UAE designed by Karim Rashid. With all his other restaurants filling up the dining scene in places such as Singapore and New York, Dubai deserved Karim too. It is one of the most fashionable restaurants I’ve ever seen. A truly unique space to enjoy lunch or dinner at the Dubai Mall, the Switch Restaurant and Lounge brings in the excitement of being inside an astonishing “cocoon” made of walls that can change color from electric pink to magical blue within seconds.

With contemporary, futuristic design and an international menu of Mediterranean fusion dishes prepared by one of South Africa’s top chefs, the restaurant is an exciting new addition to the culinary scene in Dubai. The restaurant is arranged along undulating walls that change colour continuously and the ceiling is decorated with Arabic writing, lit from behind.

Every experience is composed of views, smells, tastes and sounds; here, the senses create individual backgrounds for a truly amazing global dining experience. The backlit ceiling artwork consists of stylized inspirational Arabic phrases. The continuous wave seating provides an efficient and dynamic operating system.
