Dusit Thani Dubai and the newly created Emirates Photography Forum TM have in presenting ‘My Ramadan’, a photography exhibition celebrating Islamic culture and cutoms during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to mark the Greater Eid, Eid al-Adha. The exhibition end at 8 of November.The art display feature imagery through the eyes and lenses of professional and amateur photographers from across the Middle East and further afield.
The ‘My Ramadan’ photography project started in 2011 as a simple idea to share moments shared during Ramadan by one photographer, Slava Noor. Her passion towards photography and educating others on the Islamic culture and customs sparked the beginnings of an annual exhibition which continues to grow in popularity and has seen more than 40 photographers submiting their work across the Islamic world.
The Emirates Photography Forum TM will be using the exhibition as their official launch event, introducing photographers and partners to its platform which gives the photography community the means to gain more exposure and exhibiting opportunities, an idea formed by one of the exhibition participants, Fahad Ali.
The Dusit Thani Dubai’s efforts in supporting its chosen charity, Operation Smile in the UAE, the Emirates Photograpfy Forum TM will be donating half of all proceeds made from the sale of the displayed artworks to their efforts in mobilizing a force of medical professionals and caring hearts to provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities within the region.
