Top 10 Underway Landscaping Projects That Will Spark Your Curiosity

The total value of the top 10 landscaping projects in the UAE exceeds $5.8 billion, said the event organiser ot the upcoming Urban Design & Landscaping Expo, the Middle East’s only dedicated trade fair for urban, green and open  spaces.

With three new theme parks under development among the major landscaping projects, the UAE reinforces its position as an attractive destination for recreational tourism.

1. Sheikh Zayed National Museum – Cultural District

The project involves the construction of a museum comprising of seven permanent gallery displays as well as a dynamic special exhibition programme in which visitors can explore the long history, heritage and culture of the UAE and its place in the world. The building will be surrounded by water and set within landscaped gardens, creating a destination for all and a worthy tribute to the memory of Sheikh Zayed.

2. The Tower – Dubai Creek

The project involves the construction of an observation tower 3,045 feet of height which will be linked to the central island district of the upcoming Dubai Creek Harbour development. It will feature a VIP observation garden deck and glazed rotating balconies. Other features of the tower include vast residential and commercial space; 22 hotels with 4,400 rooms; and a mega retail district.

3. World Legends Theme Park

The project involves the construction of the world’s largest theme park. It will comprise nine zones of various rides. The park will also house restaurants, stores and other forms of entertainment. It will include 9,700 square meters of food and beverage options and 9,500 square meters of retail space, all set within a
temperature-controlled environment.

4. Warner Brothers World – Yas Island Abu Dhabi

The project involves the construction of a theme park which will include indoor and outdoor areas for 29 themed rides, plus other shows and interactive attractions, as well as dining and shopping outlets. The project will also include six immersive lands including Metropolis and Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza, reminiscent of old Hollywood, Warner Bros-themed hotel and a car park.

5. Warsan Village

The project involves the development of Warsan Village which includes the construction of a neighborhood containing 942 three-bedroom modern townhouses. Warsan Village contains a variety of neighborhood amenities, such as shops, restaurants and cafés, a community clubhouse with swimming pool and gym, outdoor sports facilities, a mosque and easy access to the nearby new shopping plaza.

6. Wonderland Park Development

The project involves the construction of amusement parks, apartments, shops, restaurants, and a cultural center which will be carried out in phases and will also include two furnished apartment blocks.

7. Dubai Eye – Bluewaters Island Development

The project involves the construction of a 210 meter Ferris wheel with 48 luxury capsules capable of holding 1,400 visitors. Ain Dubai will be the centerpiece of Bluewaters Island, which will feature retail, residential, entertainment and hospitality offerings. The assembled hub and spindle is approximately 40 meters long and 20 meters high and weighs 1,805 tons.

8. Mulberry – Park Heights

The project involves the construction of a residential complex, comprising of 652 apartments and 24 penthouses, as well as parking for 960 cars. The homes will feature high-level finishes and amenities, including an outdoor pool for adults and children, jogging and bicycle tracks, and will overlook a lush green park. Residents will have access to shopping mall, hotels, schools, a multipurpose hall, healthcare and fitness facilities with steam and sauna rooms, children’s play areas and family spaces.

9. Leadership and Media Pavillions – Dubai Exhibition City

The project involves the construction of leadership and media pavilions for UAE Expo 2020, and the event’s ‘Hammerhead’ access road to Al Wasl Plaza plus landscaping. The Leadership and Media Pavilions will be transformed into hotels post-Expo, as part of the District 2020 legacy development project. They are both expected to achieve four-star ratings. The Leadership Pavilion will accommodate UAE leadership during the Expo.

10. Reem Central Park – Al Reem island

The project involves the construction of a public park on the Reem Island. The park will span across 92,903 square meters. The multi-tiered park will include a 4 kilometer promenade, a 2,000 worshiper mosque, food and beverage outlets, a retail center, a skate park, play areas and interactive water features. The development will also include construction of a mid-market homes property called as The Bridges, featuring studios apartments.
