Luxury Furniture is Here to Stay

Dubai’s original luxury furniture store interiors is celebrating a milestone 50-year anniversary, with an exciting competition offering a grand prize to spend at any of its six showrooms in the UAE.

Back in 1968, the internationally award-winning company launched its first store close to Dubai’s historic Al Abra area and the locally-grown brand has since expanded across the Emirates with showrooms in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. There are now two stores in Dubai, with its sixth establishment opening in Jumeirah in 2016, joining its 21-year-old flagship showroom in Karamah.

Under the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC, one of Dubai’s leading business houses, it was one of the first companies to introduce luxury furniture from worldwide brands to the market, forming exclusive partnerships with manufacturers from Scandinavian countries, Denmark, Germany and Britain, with a key focus on innovation, quality and skilled craftsmanship.

Interiors has a longstanding history of providing the finest quality, fashionable products from global names to the regional design scene, including Mariner, Giorgio Collection, Cornelio Cappellini, Bernhardt, Lexington, and Fama. To date, Interiors now represents over 100 brands from around the world.

“Fifty years ago, the furniture supply to the market was very limited; we started by importing furniture from Germany, followed by Denmark,” says general manager Raed Dibs, who has been with the company for more than 25 years. “Trends and tastes have changed a lot since then; our focus when we first opened was classical furniture and Scandinavian designs, and gold colours and bold schemes were trendier. However, with time we introduced more contemporary and modern designs, which are more prominent these days. By bringing exclusive brands to the UAE with unique designs and quality, customers can always be assured that they are getting the best in the market.”

Five decades on, the grandchildren of their original customers are buying from the luxury store, whose brands cater to both contemporary and classic tastes. “Many of our customers tell us that they bought a sofa set from us 10 years ago and it is still in good quality,” adds Raed. “People who care about their furniture and the quality always come back for more, in addition to the variety of furniture styles that caters to each generation.”

curtains and The company also offers interior design services with a dedicated residential design studio that’s worked on projects ranging from royal palaces to furnished apartments. Clients can enjoy complementary consultations, bespoke customization, and tailor-made items like upholstery from its dedicated textiles division, which provides a personalized interior design service to meet many different styles. Meanwhile, its projects department has worked on commercial, hospitality, healthcare and educational facilities, furnishing a number of luxury hotels and retail outlets in the UAE.

Customers have recognized and honoured the brand’s ability to bring beautiful, high-quality furniture and designs to the market, crowning it the UAE’s Best Luxury Home Store for two consecutive years in the InsideOut Reader’s Choice Awards 2016 and 2017. It’s won a number of other regional awards, too, as well as international recognition as having the Best Customer Service Department at the Stevie Awards in 2011.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand across the GCC for 2020, and it will open more branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, offering residents of new communities convenient access to global brands and modern designs.
